6:00 / ACES TENNIS (Beach 1 Courts)

Boys & Girls, Ages 13-20

Coordinator:  Kathy Dittrick

Assistant:  Luke Kloza

This league is set up for match play between the teen players, with an emphasis on fun as well as competition.

This evening was our last Aces of the season. Because of the myriad of activities happening, the turnout was not that great. However, the enthusiasm was not decreased. Natalie Gaura and Tim Fau had an exciting match. Natalie had a smash, and Tim had great drop shots. Good luck to these players and all the Aces as they try out for their high school and college teams, as well as good luck in school!

Thanks to all the players who came out for this summer. There was a tremendous increase in the caliber of play from the beginning of the season until now, and all should do well if they practice! Thanks to the adult Team Tennis for keeping us supplied with balls.

Thanks to our Athletic Director, Alice Carmody for all of her help!  We hope everyone has a great "winter" and see you next summer!

------------------

Your Aces coordinator is constantly amazed about the increasing caliber of play from the Aces. They continually strive to do their best and push themselves each week. The friendly rivalries also help. Because of the conflicting schedules with other sports, players change each week. It is exciting to pair two "new" players and see how they do.

Singles winners this week include Will Kresic and Tim Fau. Doubles winners are Will Kresic and Natalie Gaura.

--------------------------

Germany to play. Actually it was to visit family, but he decided to play some tennis too. Welcome to Scott and Greg who are great competitAces had an international flavor this week. Stefan Nealis, hosted by Scott and Greg Tierney, came from ors. I guess Nicole DelCorson needed one last Aces because she came to play the very last time before her move the next day. Natalie Gaura will miss her friend and tennis partner. Brian Rienecker has really stepped up his game, exhibiting great shots and a lot of endurance. Great tennis playing runs in the Rienecker/Fiala family. Brian's cousin, Mark Fiala participated as an ACES player!

Winners of singles matches this week are: Stefan (2), Mark (2), Brian and Greg. Winners of the doubles match were Scott and Greg. We finished up with a greatly competitive King of the Court. No one held the position of "King" for long and it was great to see everyone "rule".   Aces thank the adult Team Tennis for their donation of balls.

Remember to come to the Beach One Tennis Courts at 6 on Tuesday evening for some great match play!

------------------------------

After a humid day, it turned out to be a fine evening for our Aces to play their matches. Two more of our players from previous years came out to play. It was great to see Natalie Gaura and Nicole Del Carano. Too bad it was a farewell "performance" for Nicky as she is moving this week. Nicky and Brian Rienecker played mixed doubles and won their match. This tuned out to be a very interesting match as there were great serves and shots, including several slices by Brian. Jessie Fau and Natalie were great opponents and kept the match on serve until the very end. After this match, the Aces played King of the Court and a new game, "With luv, Peter, everyone on the court."

It is great to see the excellent caliber of play by all the Aces. Remember, Tuesday evening at six is the time for all Aces to come to the beach one tennis courts. See you there!

----------------------

Welcome back to more of our Aces from last year and to some of our Aces Alumni who came to watch, teach and get a match in. Since the weather was a bit cooler, we were able to play more matches. We were able to get a doubles match in and the victors were Brian Rienicker and Jesse Fau. Singles winners were John Wisniewski, Tim Fau, and Will Kresic (2). Remember that on Tuesday evening at 6PM at the Beach 1 Tennis Courts, the "gang" will be waiting for you to arrive. So, if you are between 13-20 years old, and know how to play tennis, come ready to play some singles and doubles matches.

It was a slow start to our season this year. I guess the 95+ degrees temperatures plus the thunder in the distance changed the minds of some of our Aces. The good part was that three new players came out. We would like to welcome Jesse Fau, Mariah Coyle, and Brian Rienecker. They played one pro set doubles match, and then had fun with the game, King of the Court. We encourage all players 13-20 years old to come down to the Beach One tennis courts at 6PM on Tuesday evenings for some singles and doubles matches with your fellow Aces.

Come one, come all! Aces Tennis will be starting it's summer run on Tuesday evening, July 10, 2007 at the Beach One tennis courts at 6:00 PM. If you like to play tennis and you are between 13 and 20 years old, this is the place for you. This is match play, so you should know how to serve and score. If you have any questions, please call 973-764-3370 on weekends and  973-764-4996 on weekdays.   See you on Tuesday!
