Babe Ruth League

Ray Loughren 2975

The Babe Ruth season came to an end last Sunday night.  We were able to play six games this season.  The Green team had the edge winning four.  The Blue team won two.  A lot of players came out to play.  Next year we will have three teams, adding the Red Team to the mix.  Sign up early.  I had a great time and hope you did too.

Babe Ruth League  Blue Team 18-6

The Blue team responded with a much needed win Sunday night. Powered by a three homer night from Terrance Miller, a fine defensive play by Luke Jablonski, all proved too much for the Green team. BJ Fusco went deep for the Green and Garett Torez played a fine shortstop. The standings as of today are Green with three wins and Blue with two wins. See you Sunday at 6:00P

The Green defeated the Blue 12-6 Monday night. The game was close for six innings with the Green holding onto a slim 4-2 lead. The Green flashed some fine leather with Matt Cordes leading the way. Louis Davala supplied solid defense and offensive punch for the Blue. The game stayed close until the Seventh inning when Peter Miller went for a grand slam. The Blue fought back in the ninth but fell short. See you Sunday at six!

Another great game was played last Sunday night. Defense was key for both teams with the Green team holding a slim 4-3 lead. Terrance Miller tied the score for the Blue team with a late inning homer. The Blue team went ahead by two, thanks to some clutch two out. Hitting by Dan Kelly. The Green team was not to be denied as they rallied for three in the ninth. The winning runs were driven in by Bill Fusco with two outs. These games have been well played and very entertaining. See you Sunday night at 6:00PM.

I'd like to thank Ray Loughren for initiating the Boys 17-21 year old Softball League. For those who remember, the Blue, Green, and Red Teams are back! They meet Sunday evenings at 6:00PM at Field #2. We hope to phase out the 17 year olds from the Boys Little League next year and encourage more 12 year olds to play. This would create a 12-16 year old Boys Little League and a 17-21 year old Senior League. Come out and play ball! (Alice Carmody)

The Green Team's bats woke up to last week's defeat at the hands of the Blue Team, led by Devon Eckhart and John Jablonski. The Green Team came away with a 19-8 victory. We had a great turnout of players and should be forming a third team shortly. Come down Sundays at 6:00PM.
