Beach One Bus Stop Information
Beach 1
Redevelopment Committee
Robert Gellner, 2nd Vice President / Committee Chairman
This will probably be my last article on the Beach 1 project.
With the opening of the Beach 1 project to the membership, we have completed another project to improve the quality of life in Highland Lakes. This project has been the largest endeavor by Highland Lakes since the acquisition of the lakes and land formally owned by Seckler and Shepperd. It is hoped by the Committee and myself that the membership appreciates and respects the effort that went into recreating this area.
It has been a long year since the park was closed for renovations, but the day has finely come where the membership can now enjoy the area again.
New employees have been hired and extra security will be on hand to ensure that the park is maintained and watched over. Your help will be required in keeping this park the pinnacle of Highland Lakes.
To all that were involved from the design threw completion of the new Beach 1 area and to the membership for tolerating the renovations THANK YOU and ENJOY.
PARENTS!
Please advise your children that Skateboarding and Roller Blading are permitted on the Utility Court at Beach 1.
They are prohibited at all other locations at Beach 1.
GRAND OPENING PHOTO REVIEW AND RECAP 2005
PARKING AT BEACH ONE
Jack McLaughlin, General Manager
Now that Beach 1 is open, this is the opportunity to remind members about the access and parking requirements at Beach 1 during the summer months.
There are two parking aisles that have been created - one adjacent to the ballfield, the other adjacent to the playground. There are two ways to enter the Beach 1 site - from Breakneck Road in the front or from Lakeside Drive in the back.
Access from Breakneck Road involves following the loop road to the right around the building. In the loop road there are a limited number of parking spaces, including handicapped spaces. There is NO PARKING permitted anywhere else within the loop road. You may continue from the loop road into the parking aisle adjacent to the playground. There are handicapped spaces set aside in this aisle as well.
Access from Lakeside Drive takes you into the parking aisle adjacent to the ballfield, and there are handicapped spots in this aisle as well.
There is no through access at Beach 1 - you will not be able to get from Breakneck Road to Lakeside Drive in either direction. This is being controlled by a series of chains affixed to parking bollards.
During the school bus season, access from Breakneck Road will be limited to the parking spots in the loop road - you will not be able to enter either parking aisle. Both parking aisles will be available to those entering the site from Lakeside Drive.
To use the handicapped spaces, your vehicle must have the proper license plate or placard. Without these, there are no circumstances in which it is justifiable to park in any handicapped spot. Vehicles without the proper handicapped plates or placecards will be summonsed and are subject to towing
