Contact : Mark Buruchian April 2008 The Boat & Dock Committee held its annual lottery drawing in April and sent out letters to everyone assigned a space. Letters were also sent to those placed on a waiting list. The docks will be secured shortly and available for your use. Junior sailors that participate in the sailing races and are looking for space at Eckhart Sailing Center should contact Sue Buruchian -7420 or Frank Henninger -3363. Members are reminded to put their boats in their assigned location by no later than Sunday, July 6th. Failure to do so will result in forfeiture of your assigned space. For those members not assigned a space, other public docks and racks are available at certain freeway locations on a first come, first serve basis. Members who removed their boats from the west side of main lake, lake 1 and lake 5 racks are now free to return them to the same space that they were removed from.March 2008 The lottery drawing for dock space will be held soon. Those members who submit applications by the March 15th deadline will be eligible to participate in a lottery drawing for a space on one of the following docks: Club Park, Comet Row, Beach #3, and Beach #4. A second drawing will be held to place those members not assigned a space onto a waiting list in the order that their names are pulled. Any applications received after the March 15th deadline will be placed at the end of the waiting list in the order that their application was received by the Club. Please remember the stringer docks located at the club freeway areas around the main lake are available on a "first come, first serve basis." RULES: Please note that the dock spaces are not transferable - abuse may result in forfeiture of your space and/or participation in the future lottery drawings. Only members in good standing will be permitted to utilize dock space. Failure to pay all dues and assessments in full by May 31, 2008 or to place your boat on its assigned space by July 6, 2008 will result in forfeiture of your space. Certain dock spaces may be limited to specific types of boats, i.e. dry dock space is reserved for sailboats only and dry dock space at Eckhart Sailing Center is primarily reserved for those participating in the Junior Sunfish Racing Program. A boat may not occupy two spaces unless grandfathered as such. Members are expected to maintain their boats while on club property, such as bailing out excess rainwater.
Feb 2008 By now the Club Office has mailed out its January invoices. If for some reason you did not receive a copy, extra copies are available at the Club Office. The lottery will be held by the Committee shortly after March 15, 2008. Please note that the application must be submitted even if you were granted a dock space via the lottery last year or are on the grandfathered listings (to keep us abreast of the type of boat being placed in the space). Certain dock spaces may be limited to specific types and sizes of boats, i.e. dry dock space is reserved for sailboats only. Boats which are unsuitable for dock space may be excluded from the drawing. A boat may not occupy two spaces unless grandfathered as such. Dock spaces are not transferable. Abuse may result in forfeiture of your space and/or future participation in the lottery. Only members in good standing will be permitted to utilize dock space. After the July 6th date, the Committee will assign open spaces to the members listed on the waiting list from the lottery held. Please note these spaces are not on a first come/first serve basis, and are only assigned by the Committee. Nonetheless, there are other public docks and boat racks around the lake that are available on a first come/first serve basis. In addition, members who vacated their boats from the racks on the west side of the main lake last fall will have until July 6th to return their boats to their original rack location. We appreciate the removal of the boats to facilitate the repair of the racks. ----------------- Feb -08 Removal of Boats Highland Lakes Security 973-764-4266 Please be advised all boats that were not removed by their owners from the west side of the Main Lake this past fall have been relocated by the Club.
