| HLCC FISH COMMITTEE STOCKING REPORT Michael Ewasko Committee Chairman I received a call from Michael Zetts of Zetts Fish Farm in Drifting, PA. confirming our awaited delivery of walleye for this year’s stocking program. Wednesday morning November 14th at 10:00am and right on schedule the tank truck arrived at the clubhouse and was met by HLCC Fish Committee members Don Masiello, friend Sonny, Kenny Eckhart and myself who began the routine planting of walleye in our five lakes. The delivery was for approximately 480 walleye yearlings in the 5-6 inch class that were carefully loaded into the four aerated tanks on the Zetts delivery truck the day before. The fish were divided between all lakes with the main lake receiving the largest share. All the fish appeared lively and healthy as usual and seemed to adapt to our waters quickly, disappearing from sight within moments after being placed in the lake. This years stocking ran about 2 weeks later than usual due to water level conditions at the hatchery. The committee has determined that fall stocking is the best time of year with cooler water putting less stress on the fish. The ongoing walleye stocking program has been a huge success with large walleye appearing more frequently on the hooks of HLCC anglers. If you would like to know more about future projects of the HLCC Fish Committee please note the second Thursday evening of each month at 8:00pm on your calendar for our regular meeting just following the Ecology meeting.
