Summer Garbage Service The Voting Board exercised its option and renewed the summer garbage contract with Waste Management of New Jersey. Pickup will be on Mondays throughout the summer beginning June 23rd and ending on Tuesday, September 2nd (due to Labor Day holiday). The schedule is as follows: June 23, 30 July 7, 14, 21, 28 August 4, 11, 18, 25 September 2 (due to Labor Day holiday)
Members who are year-round customers of Waste Management will be receiving a letter from the company explaining the amount of the credit you are entitled to on your Waste Management invoice. Please keep in mind that only members in good standing will be entitled to the credit. In order to ensure that you are provided with garbage service, your dues and assessments must be paid not later than Sunday, June 22nd. Please remember - your garbage must be out by 6:30 AM on collection day.
Bulky Waste Drop-off DPW – Church Street, Vernon The Clean Communities Program will be having a bulky waste and tire cleanup on Sunday, April 27, 2008 and Saturday, May 3, 2008 at the DPW complex on Church Street, Vernon from 8:00 AM until 4:00 PM. Bulky items that will be accepted are tires, furniture, mattresses, carpets, and appliances (stoves, washers, dryers, refrigerators, freezers, and air conditioners). Vernon residents will be allowed four (4) tires per household. NO truck tires or tires on rims will be accepted. Hazardous waste (paint, chemicals, etc.) will not be accepted. Proper identification showing proof of Vernon residency or ownership of property in Vernon will be required to dispose of bulky waste and tires. Do not place these items curbside for pickup.Please either establish your own mulch area on your property or take these items to the dump in Lafayette at the SCMUA. Free mulch is available to all at the SCMUA! |
