Katelyn Esposito Katelyn will be entering her senior year at William Patterson University this fall. She is a physical education major and is a member of the women’s swim team. She is one of our fastest swimming lifeguards and has traveled as far as Australia for swimming. Her hobbies include keeping on top of the beach 1 guards and attending family day!
Austin Mortin Austin will be entering his junior year at American University this fall. He is an economic studies and international studies major with a minor in political science, and is a member of the crew team. In his spare time he enjoys running around Highland Lakes, enjoying a nice day over on beach 4, and driving his van. Austin is very excited to have received this award and we encourage everyone to congratulate him on it!!!
Rob Randazzo Rob will be entering his senior year at Xaverian High School in Brooklyn, NY this fall. He is our first summer resident to earn guard of the week! He enjoys spending summers here in Highland Lakes and last year had a very close encounter with a bear! He enjoys nature but is excited to get back to the city where he enjoys hanging out on 86th street with his friends.
Mike Leifer Mike just graduated from Vernon High School this June. In the fall he plans on attending Rutgers University where he will be a biology major. His hobbies include playing the guitar and the golf ball game with his swim lessons on beach 3. He lives his life by the motto: “Hey shark, I’m a guppy!”
Luke will be entering his senior year of high school at VTHS this fall. He hopes to join the armed forces after graduation. In his spare time he enjoys extracting syrup from Vermont maple trees and watching the Notebook.
Brian will be entering his junior year at Rowan University. He is pursuing a degree in Art Education and hopes to become a teacher upon graduation. His most prized possession is his gold 1990 Toyota Camry with flip lights. It was his lifelong dream to earn guard of the week, and is looking forward to a second nomination. (Wink, wink)
Erin will be entering her senior year of high school at VTHS this fall. She plans on attending a four year university next fall, and hopes to major in history. As a full-time beach 1 guard she enjoys visiting the beach hut, informing her water safety directors of her daily woes, and loves when her fellow lifeguards play practical jokes on her.
Nastiashia is currently a student at Rockland County Community College. She is pursuing a certification for AAS and EMT, and is also studying this summer to become a NY EMT. She enjoys playing video games such as “Need for Speed” (look out for her on the road) and enjoys attending the Renaissance Fair.
John graduated from high school at VTHS this past June. He is enjoying a summer without homework and is looking forward to attending college in the fall. In his spare time he enjoys swimming the Erskin Classic. He lives life by his own clock, and is a bit confused and thinks he is a California surfer at times (especially with his hair). He and his sister Carrie make up our first brother-sister guard of the week duos. Mom is so proud!!
