The Highland Lakes Band performed its first annual concert at the clubhouse this past Sunday, It was a success, and we look forward to next summer!  Thanks to all who helped out, especially Mrs. Hastie, Mrs. Ebers and the rest of the clubhouse staff.  Also, thanks to the musicians for all their hard work and time.

The Highland Lakes Band, in conjunction with the Highland Lakes Art Show, will be presenting its first annual summer concert on Sunday August 26th at 4:30PM on the Clubhouse lawn. Enjoy the artwork inside, then stick around for the debut of a Highland Lake's first! The band will be performing works by Smentana and Holst. Bring a lawn chair or blanket!

The Highland Lakes Band has gotten off to a fantastic start, but we still don't have all the parts represented. We could really use a saxophonist. EVERYBODY is welcome to join; this is not an activity meant for only children and teens, also, any instrument is welcome.

Rehearsal dates are as follows:Sunday August 19, Tuesday, August 21 and Thursday, August 23.  Please bring a music stand!Please try to make it to at least three rehearsals so that you are prepared for our concert at the end of August.

July 22nd, 26th, and 29th from 6:30 to 7:30 PM in the Lake Room. Please bring a music stand if you have one. We are trying a new activity here in Highland Lakes, the first ever HLCC Community Band. Musicians of all ages and any instruments are welcome, however, the ability to read music is mandatory. I have some scores of concert band literature for us to play. If you do not play an instrument typical of a concert band, I will gladly arrange a part for you. With enough practice, we may be able to hold a concert at the end of the summer! If you have a music stand, please bring it!   Rehearsal times are TBA.
