The Sussex County Municipal Utilities Authority (SCMUA) conducts two household hazardous waste events annually, usually in the spring and fall. This program is available to Sussex County residents, local school districts, municipalities and county agencies.

SCMUA conducts these special events because it removes from the waste stream pollutants and toxins that would otherwise find their way into landfill and the leachate generated.
