Sailors’ Picnic – 2007
On Labor Day weekend the sailors (and their families) who race many categories of wind-propelled boats, gathered in our clubhouse to culminate the racing season and to award, and receive, trophies. The picnic was a friendly and tasty affair. About 75 people attended this year’s event. Dr. Dick Witt co-coordinated the picnic and the awards.
Dick announced that he was stepping down as Director of the Sailing Fleets after holding this position for many years. (See photo). In another photo, Richard Mastrangelo relinquishes the coveted Senior Sunfish perpetual trophy to Chet Cooper. Congratulations, Chet!

On Sunday, September 2nd, all sailors and their families are invited to the annual Sailors Picnic in the Lake Room at 4:30PM. Trophies will be awarded
There will be a modest charge for food and beverage expenses. The rest of the menu is donated. We will ask each family attending to bring a salad or dessert.
We will also need setup and cleanup help. Any questions, contact Sailing Coordinator, Dr. Dick Witt at 973-764-9488.

Sailors picnic is in two weeks.
This year the Force 5 sailors will do the cooking.
I need to have you contact each sailor in your fleet and ask them to bring a salad or desert. In doing so, try to have a balance of equal quantities of salad and desert. It is important to have one dish for each couple.
A family of 6 would require 3 dishes.
I need to have a head count of your fleet by Thursday Aug 30.

Dear Fellow Sailors:
In two weeks at the picnic I hope to help out an Olympic windsurfing hopeful, Denis Parris, by selling Tee & tank top shirts for her to raise money for her campaign. I met her in May at a windsurfing even in Maryland and would be really stoked if I could sell all 20 shirts to help her raise money. They are $20 a piece so please bring some extra cash.
