Our first meeting of the new season is always busy with members greeting one another after the winter season and the spring season that seems to be reluctant to emerge. Plans are in the making and it’s an exciting time. Already Bob Kennedy has preparations for our Annual Memorial Day Ceremony well under way.

Come to this important Memorial Day gathering and invite your friends and neighbors to attend also. Refreshments will be available in the Lake Room following the ceremony.
For those of you who may have misplaced your meeting schedule for 2008, copies will be available at the meeting. Take a good look at all of the events already planned for this season and, don’t we usually add to that schedule, once we know the will of the membership?
For those HLCC members who are 50+ and thinking of joining our Seniors Club, I would like to offer you this opportunity to become an active part of your HLCC family and more specifically, the Seniors Club. We do have a good time!!! We also care for one another! I’ll be there to greet you, May 13, 2008, 7:00 PM, Lake Room, HLCC Clubhouse. Let’s have coffee together!

HLCC SENIORS LOOK FORWARD TO SPRING

April and the spring season 2008 are here and our traveling members will be filtering back from their winter havens. While March weather has had very little warmth, perhaps April will live up to our hopes and expectations.
Our first meeting of the HLCC Senior Club will be at the HLCC Clubhouse in the Lake Room, on Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at 7:00 P.M.. Now would be a good time for any HLCC members who are 50+ and thinking about membership in the Seniors Club, to decide to join. We are a fun group and would like to make you welcome among us. I would be happy to answer any questions you may have and can be reached at the above number.
To our HLCC Senior Club members, let’s get the fun started this season with getting together May 13th!

“WINTER BREAK”

How very beautiful our Highland Lakes area is under a blanket of fresh snow. The air is so fresh and the temperature “brisk”. It really makes you remember you’re alive. The skaters were out in large numbers with their hockey sticks on Upper Highland Lake, recently, and there was no question everyone was having a wonderful time in the sunshine. It was a lovely winter weekend.
Not everyone stays here through our sometimes harsh winters. To those of our membership who go to warmer areas for the meaner part of the year, sand and warmth fill their needs. But we do miss you and look forward to your return with the warmer weather.
On December 12th ’07, many of our members attended our annual Christmas party wearing their Christmas finery and broad smiles. There was much merriment and way too much food and beverages (but we did our very best to consume it)! The December meeting is always filled with happy moments and expectations of the season – a little early for the guy in the red suit and long white beard though. In the event you have misplaced your list of meeting dates, our first meeting of 2008 is: May 13 – 7:00 – 9:00 PM
While it seems quite far away at the moment, “winter break” will be over sooner than we thought possible.

New Members are always welcome. Please come on down and join us in the air-conditioned Lake Room on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month (May - September). You must be 50 plus years of age and a member in good standing with Highland Lakes Country Club and Community Association to become a member of this very special Highland Lakes social club. Please plan on joining us to see if it is right for you.
